The following articles are written by Rev. Geoffrey Donnan based upon a very providential series of events that led to the marriage of two people in their early 30's who God brought together. This is a very moving story of these two young people committed to faith in Jesus Christ, but also committed as much as possible to finding a like-minded mate within Italy. In the process of telling their story, you will learn a great deal about the problems of living as a Protestant in a Roman Catholic country and yet how even such small events can have great significance in the Reformation of a country.
A LOVE STORY -- Part 1 (written by Rev. Geoffrey Donnan--October/November 2004)
A family leaves Italy for Canada while adhering to communism and atheism. While in Canada, they are converted to Christ and come in contact with a person who later goes into the ministry and eventually into missions working with RCM. Meanwhile, RCM begins working in Italy at about the same time. Read this story to see how all these events are woven together to bring about an incredible "love story" which continues to this day.
A LOVE STORY -- Part 2 (written by Rev. Geoffrey Donnan--December 2004)
Part 2 of this love story is a continuation of the first story and the explanation of how all these providential events that first brought about the meeting and engagement of this young couple, worked together to demonstrate both the "glory of the cross" at the same time that a significant event was seeking to bring back the "glory of Rome." A year later, the "glory of the cross" is blossoming, while at the same time, the hopes and ambitions of the Roman Catholic Church "glory of Rome" event has become a dismal European failure.
At a later point in time, we hope to continue this story and provide more details to the above in a series of sequals, with much better pictures. At the moment, that is not possible. If you want more of this, please press us for it and let us know you are waiting.
